Accessories for Hay Feeders

Various accessories are available for feeders used with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, and other livestock. For instance, a protective roof edge can be purchased for large feeders to reduce the risk of injury. This roof edge guard shields the sharp edges of the roof. Additionally, a protective bracket for the three-point hitch of a feeder can be added. This bracket covers the sharp edges of the hitch to prevent animals from getting injured. Another protective measure is a bitumen layer that safeguards the feeder from aggressive feed materials like silage. This extra bitumen coating protects the bottom of the feeder from the corrosive acids in the feed, significantly extending the feeder's lifespan.

Some feeders can be upgraded to add features or to increase their size. For example, an extension can be added to a round feeder to accommodate more animals. Additionally, feed troughs can be ordered separately for some feeders, allowing for the inclusion of concentrate feed in the feeder. This makes the feeder more versatile and eliminates the need for separate bins for concentrate feed.
